Additional design elements incorporated into the product include aluminium sheets imbedded into the core of the door to increase structural integrity and boost moisture control. NorDan added that the weather performance, coupled with the fact the frame of the door has been treated with NorDan’s vacuum impregnation process, gives the lifecycle of the door a ‘prolonged guarantee’. HomeGuard also utilises a Part M-compliant threshold manufactured in GRP to address cold bridging and condensation from metal thresholds. The external doors have been designed to withstand the roughest of Scandinavian coastal weather, having been tested against the ‘highest levels’ of air permeability, wind resistance and water tightness up to 2400 pascals, NorDan explained. The HomeGuard door features sustainable, high quality timber. This delivered a new factory boasting a FOX powder coating facility and a standalone door manufacturing platform that was specifically designed for the manufacturing of the HomeGuard.
